1. Code of Conduct

All of the participants at the CounterMEASURE stakeholder conference 2020 are expected to agree with the following code of conduct. United Nations Environment Programme and partner organizers will enforce this code throughout the conference. We really appreciate your understanding and cooperation in a safe and comfortable learning environment for everybody.

Be excellent to each other

We want the conference to be an excellent experience for everyone regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or other protected category. Treat everyone with respect. Participate while acknowledging that everyone deserves to be here -- and each of us has the right to enjoy our experience without fear of harassment, discrimination, or condescension, whether blatant or via micro-aggressions. Jokes shouldn’t demean others. Consider what you are saying and how it would feel if it were said to or about you.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, legal status, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any of our sessions or breakouts, breaks or reception, or on Twitter and other online media as related to the conference.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact us immediately.

Practice saying "Yes and" to each other.

It’s a theatre improv technique to build on each other’s ideas. We all benefit when we create together.
