In this session, remarks will be made by UNEP as Implementing Agency of CounterMEASURE and the government of Japan as donor. The project manager will introduce the overall plastic pollution issue in Asia, United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) 4 resolution, and G20/ Osaka Blue Vision. The summary of existing research and its challenges will be introduced as a motivation for the project to develop the region-based approach.
